An interesting post with some interesting comments. I sit here at college thinking the same thing. They cut the CS/CSIA department down to a staff of four, and yet there is almost 100 people registered for the football team at a school of 2000.

Exams are done, yeah.

Well, it looks like I'm taking at least two classes up here this summer.
I am more than likely going to be up here for the fall semester as well.

If I had my way, I'd work all summer and just spend another year up here.

I have several assignments I should be working on instead of typing this.
I have 9 chapters of reading I need to do.

The worst part of my day is the fact the dilbert archive went down for an hour.
My laptop doesn't like the blank DVD+Rs that I have and will only record them at 2.4x
The is no way to tell Nero 8 to not cache all network files locally as far as I can tell.

Amusingly true things about college life.

It is finals week and I am glad the semester is almost completely over.

However, I really dislike my take home final because most of the questions weren't actually covered in the class and are from a book that we weren't actually required to purchase. So here I am BSing them as best as I can and hoping that I can finish them tonight without beheading my room mate so that I can leave campus on Wednesday instead of Friday. I really don't want to have to live with him any longer than I have to.

In other news I should be back in Virginia either Wednesday or THursday of next week.

Well, it looks like I won't be spending the summer in Virginia this year like I had been hoping. The main reason for this is it is hard to look for jobs when you are 800 miles away from the target area. Another is what resumes I have sent out I have yet to receive any replies from. However, I have a standing job offer up here in Vermont at WinCycle for $9/hr. for 32hr/week that has great working hours and would allow me to allocate sufficient time to the online courses I am planning on taking through the Community College of Vermont so I can attempt to graduate on time. I am also planning a trip to Indiana to see my relatives immediately after classes let out and staying in Virginia for about a week and a half before driving the Mistake up here and starting work.

On that note, I was wondering what people had planned between the 14th and 24th of May so I might be able to plan a LANCLAN session during my brief visit home. I am also sort of looking for a road companion for the 12 hour drive up here...

Due to my friends employment contract and limited funds, my original spring break plans were shot out of the water. So I'm just going to spend spring break up here in Vermont and pray I don't go batty.

In other news, there's about 2 inches of snow on the ground and according to Accuweather its a whopping 8 degrees outside.

I only wish I didn't have an 8 page paper due Friday, a software engineering project due the following Tuesday, an MG101 report due Monday and an IS340 presentation due Wednesday. bleagh.

The only good news is that I finished the gentoo install I'd been working on and I survived another week without mauling my room mate.

Gotta love it when a proffessor or teacher assigns a "group project" with random assigned groups. Inevitably I end up doing 99.9999% of the work and the rest of my group takes 99.999% of the credit.

I've been working on a software engineering project ever since it was assinged pretty much by myself. When I haved tried to get my group involved they either don't show up for the meeting or are completely useless. grr. And the current revision is due tommorow morning of witch it is only about 60% functional. grr.

Here I am burning through a stack of DVD-Rs as fast as my burner can go. It turns out what I thought was a hard disk failure may in fact be a controller failure as the other drive on the same controller is starting to experience the same problems and I just ran a low level scan on the drive I *thought* was dead and it turned out to be in good shape. GAH! Wish me luck as I attempt to back up 200GB of data before something else happens.
