Vengeance and Black Night worked fine. But Mercs posed a problem, until I did some digging in the system logs and it lead me to this post:

I find it quite amusing that Windows Server 2008 x64 has a driver for my HP Laserjet 4 that is going on 15 years old, but doesn't have one for my Visioneer OneTouch 5800 USB that is only 7 years old.
After I killed UAC and fixed some firewall settings, it makes a nice DX10 capable OS that doesn't require 8GB of RAM to function.
